​Ecthus: January 26, 2026 (Tir 18, 2018) ​In the Gedeo, Kore, and Burji Diocese, a training program focused on entrepreneurship kicked off today. The initiative aims to empower local churches (Adbarat) to become self-reliant, move away from dependency, and enhance their creative business skills. Scheduled to run for three consecutive days until January 20, the training is part of a strategic plan designed for staff and representatives of churches under the Dilla and Wanago (Episcopal Seat) District Administrations. ​The opening session was attended by high-ranking officials, including Melake Haywot Birhanu Kifle, General Manager of the Diocese; Melake Birhan Atnafu Mamo, General Secretary of the Diocese; various diocesan department heads; the General Manager of the District Administration; and administrators and representatives of several local churches. ​The training is being conducted by ICIPE (International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology), a non-governmental international organization renowned for its expertise in beekeeping, sericulture (silk farming), and renewable energy. Leveraging its extensive experience, ICIPE is sharing vital knowledge with church ministers and staff. While today’s session focused on entrepreneurship and skill development, the upcoming days are expected to cover practical, hands-on training in basic beekeeping. ​The primary objective of this training is to enable the Holy Church to become self-sufficient through various developmental sectors. This shift is intended to ensure that the “Mudaye Mitswat” (alms collection) is dedicated solely to its intended charitable and spiritual purposes. Participants have been directed to implement the knowledge gained within their respective local churches and take a leading role in efforts to bolster the institution’s internal revenue.

ኤክቱስ በጌዴኦ ኮሬና ቡርጂ ሀገረ ስብከት፤ አድባራት ከልመና እንዲላቀቁ፣ በገቢ ራሳቸውን እንዲችሉና የሥራ ፈጠራ ችሎታን ለማዳበር በሥራ ፈጠራ ዙሪያ የሚያተኩር ሥልጠና በዛሬው ዕለት ተጀምሯል። እስከ ጥር 20 ቀን ድረስ ለሦስት ተከታታይ ቀናት የሚቆየው ይህ ሥልጠና፤ በዲላና በወናጎ (በመንበረ ጵጵስና) ወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት ስር ለሚገኙ አድባራት ሠራተኞችና ተወካዮች ታስቦ የተዘጋጀ የዕቅድ አካል ነው። በዛሬው መርሐግብር ላይ የሀገረ ስብከቱ ዋና ሥራ አስኪያጅ መልአከ ሕይወት ብርሃኑ ክፍሌ፣ የሀገረ ስብከቱ ዋና ጸሐፊ መልአከ ብርሃን አጥናፉ ማሞ፣ የሀገረ ስብከቱ የክፍል ኃላፊዎች፣ የወረዳ ቤተ ክህነቱ ዋና ሥራ አስኪያጅ፣ የአድባራት አስተዳዳሪዎችና ተወካዮች ተገኝተዋል። ይህንን ሥልጠና እየሰጠ የሚገኘው በንብ ማነብ፣ በሐር ትል እና በታዳሽ ኃይል ዙሪያ የሚንቀሳቀሰው ICIPE (International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology) የተባለ ዓለም አቀፍ ድርጅት ነው። ድርጅቱ በዘርፉ ያለውን የረዥም ጊዜ ተሞክሮ ለቤተክርስቲያኗ አገልጋዮችና ሠራተኞች እያካፈለ የሚገኝ ሲሆን በዛሬው ውሎ በሥራ ፈጠራ ላይ ትኩረት ተሰጥቶ ከዋለ በኋላ በቀጣዮቹ ቀናት ደግሞ በመሠረታዊ የንብ ማነብ ሙያ ላይ ተግባራዊ ትምህርቶች እንደሚሰጡ ይጠበቃል። የዚህ ሥልጠና ዋና ዓላማ ቅድስት ቤተ ክርስቲያን በተለያዩ የልማት መስኮች ተሰማርታ በገቢ ራሷን እንድትችል ማስቻል ነው። ይህም በቤተክርስቲያን የሚሰበሰበው “ሙዳየ ምጽዋት” ለታለመለት ለምጽዋት ተግባር እንዲውል ለማድረግ የሚረዳ መሆኑ ተመልክቷል። ተሳታፊዎችም ከሥልጠናው የሚገኘውን ዕውቀት ወደየአጥቢያቸው በመውሰድ ተግባራዊ እንዲያደርጉና የተቋሙን የውስጥ ገቢ ለማሳደግ በሚደረገው ጥረት ግንባር ቀደም ተሳታፊ እንዲሆኑ አቅጣጫ ተቀምጧል።

​ICTHUS January 21, 2026 (Tir 13, 2018 EC)​ In the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, within the Diocese of Gedeo, Kore, and Burji, 1,683 new believers were baptized and received the Grace of Divine Sonship during the celebrations of the Epiphany (Timket) and Kana Ze Gelila of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ​The distribution of the new converts across the district (Woreda Bete kihnet) is as follows: 408 within the Dilla and Wonago Bete kihnet (the See of the Bishopric), 524 in the Yirgacheffe district, 191 in the Kochore, Gedeb, and Chorso district, 88 in the Bule and Reppe district, 301 in the Kore zone district, and 171 in the Burji zone district. All have received the Sacrament of Baptism and the Grace of Sonship. ​The Diocese is currently undertaking extensive work by assigning gospel preachers who teach in local languages to reach and baptize non-orthodoxy in the region. ኤክቱስ ጥር 13/2018 ዓ.ም በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን በጌዴኦ ኮሬና ቡርጂ ሀገረ ስብከት በጌታችን በመድኃኒታችን በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የጥምቀትና የቃና ዘገሊላ በዓላት ላይ አንድ ሺህ ስድስት መቶ ሰማንያ ሦስት አዳዲስ አማንያን ተጠምቀው የሥላሴን አግኝተዋል። በመንበረ ጵጵስናና ወናጎ ወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት 408፣ በይርጋጨፌ ወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት 524፣ በኮቾሬ ገደብና ጮርሶ ወረዳዎች ቤተ ክህነት 191፣ በቡሌና ረጴ ወረዳዎች ቤተ ክህነት 88፣ በኮሬ ወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት 301፣ በቡርጂ ወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት 171 አዳዲስ አማንያን ተጠምቀው የሥላሴን ልጅነት አግኝተዋል። ሀገረ ስብከቱ ኢ-አማንያንን ለማስጠመቅ በአከባቢው ቋንቋ የሚያስተምሩ ሰባኪያነ ወንጌል በመመደብ በርካታ ሥራዎችን እየሠራ ይገኛል።

  የምሥጢረ ጥምቀት መሥራች ራሱ ጌታችንና መድኃኒታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ነው፡፡ ጌታችን አምላካችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የባሕርይ አምላክ ሲሆን በአገልጋዩ በቅዱስ ዮሐንስ እጅ ይጠመቅ ዘንድ በፍጹም ትህትና ከገሊላ ወደ ዮርዳኖስ መጣ። ይህንንም ያደረገልን አብነት ሊሆነን ነው። ምክንያቱም ጌታችን ቅዱስ ዮሐንስን “መጥተህ አጥምቀኝ” ብሎት ቢሆን ኖሮ ነገ ነገሥታቱና መኳንንቱ ካህናቱን “መጥታችሁ አጥምቁን” ባሉ ነበር። ስለዚህ እንዲህ እንዳይሆን ነው ጌታችን “ጌታ” ሲሆን በባሪያዬ እጅ እንደተጠመቅሁ እናንተም ወደ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ሄዳችሁ በካህናት እጅ ተጠመቁ ሲል ነው።  ቅደስ ዮሐንስ ጌታችን በእርሱ እጅ ለመጠመቅ ወደ እርሱ በመጣ ጊዜ “እኔ ባሪያህ በአንተ በጌታዬ እጅ ልጠመቅ ያስፈልገኛል እንጂ አንተ በእኔ በባሪያህ እጅ ትጠመቅ ዘንድ እንዴት ወደ እኔ ትመጣለህ?” አለው። ጌታችንም መልሶ “አሁንስ ፍቀድልኝ፣ እንግዲህ ጽድቅን ሁሉ መፈጸም ይገባናልና /ትንቢተ ነቢያትን እንዲህ ልንፈጽም ያስፈልጋል/” አለው። በዚህን ጊዜ ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ ጌታችንን አጠመቀው። በዚህም “መጥምቀ መለኮት” ተብሎ የቅዱስ ዮሐንስ ገናንነቱ ይነገራል፣ ጌታችንም በባሪያው እጅ በመጠመቁ ፍጹም ትህትናው ይነገርለታል።መጥምቀ መለኮት ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ በኃጢአት የተዳደፉት ሁሉ ንስሐ ገብተው የተዘጋጀላቸውን መንግሥት ወራሾች ይሆኑ ዘንድ “መንግሥተ ሰማያት ቀርባለችና ንስሐ ግቡ” እያለ ሲሰብክ ነበር። ይህ “መንግሥተ ሰማያት በልጅነት፤ ልጅነት ደግሞ በሃይማኖት ልትሰጥ ቀርባለችና ከኃጢአት ተለይታችሁ፣ ከበደል ርቃችሁ ቅረቡ” ማለት ነው። በነቢያት እንደተነገረውም “ የእግዚአብሔርን መንገድ አዘጋጁ፣ ጥርጊያውንም አቅኑ” እያለ ድምጹን አሰምቶ ሰብኳል። ምሥጢሩንም በመጣ ጊዜ ተራራውና ኮረበታው ተንዶ፣ ጎድጓዳው ተመልቶ፣ ሥሩ ተነቅሎ፣ ደንጊያው ተለቅሞ ለፈረስ ለሰረገላ እንዲመች ተደልድሎ እንደሚቆይ ሁሉ እናንተም የእግዚአብሔር ማደሪያ የሆነውን ሰውነታችሁን ከኃጢአታችሁ ንጹሕ አድርጋችሁ ጠብቁ ማለት ነው።  ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ ከንስሐው ስብከት በተጨማሪም ዘመን የማይቆጠርለት ሲሆን ሥጋን በመለበሱ ዘመን ተቆጥሮለት ከእርሱ በኋላ ስድስት ወር ዘግይቶ ስለሚመጣው ስለ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ማንነትም ሰብኳል፦ “እኔስ ለንስሐ በውኃ አጠምቃችኋለሁ፤ ጫማውን እሸከም ዘንድ የማይገባኝ ከእኔ በኋላ የሚመጣው ግን ከእኔ ይልቅ ይበረታል። እርሱ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ በእሳትም ያጠምቃችኋል፤ መንሹም በእጁ ነው። አውድማውንም ስንዴውንም በጎተረው ይከታል፤ ፈጽሞ ያጠራል፤ ሰንዴወንም በጎተራው ይከታል፤ ገለባውን ግን በማይጠፋ እሳት ያቃጥለዋል። /ማቴ 3፡11፤ ዮሐ 1፡26/ ጥምቀት በምሥጢረ ሥላሴና በምሥጢረ ሥጋዌ አምኖ ለሚፈጽመው ሰው ሁሉ ለኃጢአት መደምሰሻ ከሥላሴ የጸጋ ልጅነት ለመቀበልና የእግዚአብሔርን መንግሥት ለመውረስ የተሰጠ ልዩ የሕይወት መንገድ ነው፡፡ ጥምቀት በጽርዕ ቋንቋ ኤጲፋኒያ በግእዝ አስተርዮ በአማርኛ መገለጥ ይባላል፡፡ ቃሉ በቀጥታ ሲተረጎም በውኃ ውስጥ ገብቶ መውጣት፣ መነከር፣ መዘፈቅ፣ መጥለቅ ማለት ነው፡፡ ጌታችን ለምን ተጠመቀ? የዕዳ ደብዳቤያችንን ለመደምሰስ አዳምና ሔዋን ፍዳው በፀናባቸው መከራው በበዛባቸው ጊዜ የሚያቃልልላቸው መስሏቸው ዲያብሎሰ ስመ ግብርናችሁን ጽፋችሁ ስጡኝ ባላቸው ጊዜ አዳም ገብሩ ለዲያቢሎስ (አዳም የዲያብሎስ የወንድ አገልጋይ) ሔዋን ዓመቱ ለዲያብሎስ (ሔዋን የዲያብሎስ ሴት አገልጋይ) ብለው ጽፈው ሰጡት፡፡ ዲያብሎስም ይህንን ደብዳቤ አንዱን በሲኦል አንዱን በዮርዳኖስ አስቀመጠው፡፡ በዮርዳኖስ ያስቀመጠውን ጌታችን ሲጠመቅ እንደሰውነቱ ረግጦ ደምስሶታል፡፡ ይህንን ጽሕፈት ለመደምሰስ ነው ጌታችን በዮርዳኖስ የተጠመቀው፡፡ ለዚህም ነው ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ “በእኛ ላይ የነበረውን የሚቃወመንንም በትእዛዛት የተጻፈውን የዕዳ ጽሕፈት ደመሰሰው” ያለው /ቆላ 2፥14/፡፡ ጌታችን በተጠመቀ ጊዜ የዮርዳኖስ ወንዝ የላይኛው ሸሽቶ ወደ ላይ ተመልሶ ሽቅብ ፈሷል፡፡ የታቹም ወደ ታች ሸሽቷል፡፡ የላይኛው ፈሳሽ ተቋርጦ እንደ ክምር ተቆልሎ ቀርቷል።ቅዱስ ዳዊት የተመለከተውም ይህንኑ ነው። ከአዳም ጀምሮ እስከ ክርስቶስ ድረስ በዘር ይወርድ የነበረው ፍዳ መርገም በክርስቶስ ቤዛነት ተቋርጦ ፤ የታቹም ፈጽሞ መድረቁ ኃጢአተ አዳም የመጥፋቱ ምሳሌ ነው፡፡ እስራኤል ፈለገ ዮርዳኖስን ተሻግረው ወደ ኢያሪኮ መሔዳቸው ምእመናን በጥምቀት ከኃጢአት ቍራኝነት ተላቀው እግራቸውን ወደ ልምላሜ ገነት ወደ ዕረፍት መንግሥተ ሰማያት አቅንተው ለመሔዳቸው ምሳሌ ነው፡፡ ኢያሱ የጌታ፣ እስራኤል የምእመናን፣ ዮርዳኖስ የጥምቀት፣ ምድረ ርስት የገነት መንግሥተ ሰማያት ምሳሌ ነው፡፡ ምስጢረ ሥላሴን ለመግለጥ ጌታችን በፈለገ ዮርዳኖስ ሲጠመቅ ምስጢረ ሥላሴ ግልጽ ሆኗል፡፡ አብ በደመና “የምወደው የምወልደው ልጄ ይህ ነው” በማለቱ አብ የወልድ አባት መሆኑ ታወቀ፡፡ መንፈስ ቅዱስም የባሕርይ ሕይወቱ መሆኑን ሲያስረዳ በአምሳለ ርግብ በራሱ ላይ ተቀመጠ ወልድም በተለየ አካሉ በዮርዳኖስ ሲጠመቅ ታየ፡፡ ስለዚህ ምሥጢርን ለመግለጥ ስንል የአንድነት የሦስትነት ምስጢር በጐላ ሁኔታ እንዲታወቅ ተጠመቀ ማለት ነው፡፡ /ማቴ. 3፥16/ ትንቢቱን ለመፈጸምአቤቱ ውሆች አዩህ፣ውሆችም አይተውህ ፈሩ ጥልቆች ተነዋወጡ ውሆችም ጮኹ፡፡” ተብሎ በቅዱስ ዳዊት የተነገረውን ትንቢት ለመፈጸም ተጠመቀ /መዝ 77፥16/፡፡              ወስብሐት ለእግዚአብሔር           ሊቀትጉሃን ቀሲስ ሀብታሙ አበበ      የጌዴኦ ኮሬና ቡርጂ ሀገረ ስብከት ስብከተ ወንጌል ክፍል ኃላፊ

ኤክቱስ ጥር 10/2018 ዓ.ም በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያ ሁልጊዜ ከበዓለ ጥምቀት አንድ ቀን አስቀድሞ የሚከበረው እና ጌታችን መድኃኒታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በእደ ዮሐንስ በፈለገ ዮርዳኖስ ለመጠመቅ ከገሊላ ወደ ዮርዳኖስ መውረዱ የሚያሰስብበት በዓል በጌዴኦ ኮሬና ቡርጂ ሀገረ ስብከት በመንበረ ጵጵስናና ወናጎ ወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት በዲላ ከተማ በታላቅ ድምቀት ተከብሯል። በዕለቱ ታቦታቱ ከአድባራቱ ተነስተው በካህናትና በበርካታ ምዕመናን ታጅበው ወደ ጥምቀተ ባሕር ጉዞ አድርገዋል። በበዓሉ የዲላ ከተማ አስተዳደር ከንቲባ በዶክተር መስፍን ደምሴ ጋባዥነት የጌዴኦ ዞን ዋና አስተዳዳሪ ዶክተር ዝናቡ ወልዴ በበዓሉ ተገኝተው መልካም ምኞታቸውን ገልጸዋል። በመጨረሻም ብፁዕ አቡነ ገሪማ የሀገረ ስብከቱ ጳጳስና የቅዱስ ሲኖዶስ አባል ንግግር ያደረጉ ሲሆን በዕለቱ በዓሉ በልዩ ሁኔታ እንዲከበር አስተዋጽዖ ላደረጉ አካላትና በዓሉን ከሚመሩት ሕዝብ ጋር በጋራ ለማክበር ለመጡ የመንግሥት አካላት ምሥጋና አቅርበው በጸሎት ፈጽመዋል። በዕለቱ የሀገረ ስብከቱ ዋና ሥራ አስኪያጅ መልአከ ሕይወት ብርሃኑ ክፍሌ፣ የጌዴኦ ዞን እና የዲላ ከተማ ከፍተኛ አመራሮች፣ የወረዳ ቤተ ክህነት ዋና ሥራ አስኪያጅ ሊቀ ጠበብት መሪጌታ መሰረት፣ ሊቃውንተ ቤተ ክርስቲያን፣ በርካታ ካህናትና ዲያቆናት እንዲሁም ከፍተኛ ቁጥር ያላቸው ምዕመናን ተገኝተዋል። “ወአሜሃ መጽአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እምገሊላ ውስተ ዮርዳኖስ ከመ ይጠመቅ እምዮሐንስ – ያን ጊዜ ኢየሱስ በዮሐንስ ሊጠመቅ ከገሊላ ወደ ዮርዳኖስ መጣ” ማቴ ፫፥፲፫

To our beloved children in the Holy Spirit, the faithful throughout our Diocese, across our nation, and in the Diaspora;May the peace of the Lord be with you as we celebrate the Glorious Feast of the Epiphany. We congratulate you on reaching this great public festival, commemorating the baptism of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the River Jordan by the hand of John, for the sake of the salvation of the entire world. “ርእዩከ ማያት እግዚኦ ርእዩከ ማያት ወፈርሁ ደንገፁ ቀላያተ ማያት ወድምጸ ማያቲሆሙ”“The waters saw Thee, O Lord, the waters saw Thee and were afraid; the depths also were troubled. The waters poured out a sound.” (Psalm 77:16 / 76:16) This prophetic utterance of the Holy Prophet David describes the awe of creation as it recognized its Creator. When our Lord and Savior stood in the Jordan to be baptized, the inanimate elements manifested their fear and reverence for Him who became man through the Mystery of the Incarnation (ተዋሕዶ). Our Lord did not approach the Jordan because He was in need of purification; rather, as the “Source of Life” from whom “አፍላገ ማየ ሕይወት ዘይውኅዝ እምከርሡ”—”rivers of living water flow” (John 7:38) — He went down into the waters to sanctify them, transforming them into a womb of spiritual rebirth and divine adoption for us.On that day, the Jordan recoiled and the depths trembled, acknowledging the Divine Nature of the Christ standing in their midst. As the Holy Scripture bears witness: “ባሕርኒ ርእየት ወጎየት ወዮርዳኖስኒ ገብአ ድኅሬሁ” — “The sea saw it and fled; Jordan was driven back” (Psalm 114:3). This marks the great day of triumph where the debt of human sin was annulled, and humanity was led from the shadows of darkness into the marvelous light of grace.Beloved children in the Holy Spirit;The baptism of our Lord in the Jordan was intended to pave the way for our salvation and to grant us new life by washing away our transgressions. Therefore, as we celebrate this sublime feast, we must reflect deeply on the price Christ paid for our redemption. Our celebration should be marked by Christian conduct that honors the dignity of the sonship we received through Holy Baptism.We must refrain from worldly excesses and secular behaviors that obscure the spiritual depth of this mystery or deviate from the ancient traditions of the Church (ጥንታዊ ሥርዓት). Instead, let us observe the feast through liturgy (ሥርዓተ አምልኮ), fervent prayer, and acts of charity.In conclusion, may our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, through the grace of His baptism, strengthen us to live in faith and righteousness throughout this year. May He, who stood in the midst of the Jordan, grant enduring peace to our nation and bestow health and divine blessings upon all our people. May God Bless Ethiopia!
