Ichthus Dilla, February 12, 2026 (Yekatit 5, 2018 EC) A high-level delegation from the Patriarchate General Secretariat of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, led by His Grace Abune Gerima, Bishop of the Diocese of Gedeo, Kore, and Burji and member of the Holy Synod, conducted an extensive field visit to various development projects across the diocese. The tour commenced at the Andida Traditional School of Excellence (Abnet School), where the delegation observed the teaching-learning process of the residential students. They also inspected the poultry and beekeeping projects, the students’ and teachers’ dormitories, the dining facilities, classrooms, and the administrative office. Following this, the delegation visited the beekeeping initiatives and the Enset and coffee plantations at the Dilla Dama St. George Church. The visit continued with an inspection of the current construction progress of the Diocesan Residence (Menbere Ppizna). Additionally, the delegation toured the water and poultry projects, as well as the school located at the Dilla Debre Ghenet St. Michael Church. Furthermore, the delegation visited the newly constructed administrative office and the parish school at the Dilla Second Gethsemane Ba’ata Le-Mariam Church, including the specific site designated for the Diocese’s upcoming new project. The field visit concluded at the Diocesan Headquarters. During the visit, Memhir Daniel Seifemichael, Head of the Research and Development Department at the Patriarchate and Communications Head of the Holy Synod Office, expressed his admiration for the Diocese’s exceptional efforts in fulfilling the mission of the Holy Church. He pledged continued support from the Patriarchate to sustain and enhance these services. In his closing remarks, His Grace Abune Gerima extended his gratitude to the delegation for their active participation throughout the training program and for their dedication in visiting the various Diocesan development activities.
